CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting Elite is the latest body contouring technology that Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology is proud to offer. CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis, otherwise known as fat freezing, to freeze the fat cells in the treated area. Following treatment, the body will naturally eliminate the dead fat cells, which can result in up to 20-25% reduction of stubborn fat in the treated area.
What does it treat?
CoolSculpting is FDA cleared to eliminate stubborn fat that can not be eliminated by diet and exercise alone. At BV Derm we treat areas under the jawline, under the chin, the upper arms, back fat, bra fat, the flank area (love handles), abdomen, thighs, and under the buttocks (banana roll).
What to expect?
A CoolSculpting treatment typically takes as little as 35-75 minutes, depending on the area treated, with treatment sessions lasting 1-3 hours on average. For most patients, two or more treatment sessions are recommended to help reach their body contouring goals.

After Care and Results
CoolSculpting is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately following treatment. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and will resolve over time. Often times, patients return to work after the session is over.
Results may be seen as early as 1 to 3 months after treatment, with full results taking 6 months or more. Be sure to complete your recommended treatment plan to see the best fat elimination results.
*CoolSculpting works well for those who take good care of their physical health but just can’t seem to get rid of stubborn fat deposits. It is best for men and women who are within about 30 pounds of their ideal weight. Although CoolSculpting is suitable for fat removal, it is not a weight loss method and will not substitute for a good diet and regular exercise. CoolSculpting is not recommended for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or attempting to become pregnant.

Can I return to normal activities after the procedure?

When will I see results?
You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after one to three months. It takes some time for your body to flush fat cells. It will continue doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.
Are results permanent?
During CoolSculpting, treated fat cells are eliminated. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, long-term results should remain stable.
