Prepare For Your Visit
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that your provider has all the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It will also help alleviate any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling prior to your first appointment. Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on our web site. Also, take some time to review our staff page and familiarize yourself with the providers. We look forward to your first visit.
What to bring
Bring your insurance cards and photo ID on your first visit. If you have not set up your patient portal, be sure to bring a list of your medications and any other information we may need to complete your visit.
Insurance
Insurance plans change regularly and while we participate in many different PPO and HMO plans and accept traditional indemnity insurance, it is your responsibly to verify coverage. Ask your plan if Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology is:
- In their network
- Requires a referral to a specialist like a Dermatologist from your Primary Care Physician
If you are not sure about our status with your insurance company, please check with your insurance company or your employer's benefit representative prior to your appointment.

If you do not use the Portal, you will be asked for this information when you arrive for your appointment. For questions regarding our patient portal or to reset your password, please call our office at 303-604-1444.
Patient Portal allows you to:
- Complete your personal information, insurance and medical history
- Access visit notes, test results and any other medical records in your BV Derm account.
- Conduct Telemedicine visits.
- Communicate with your provider or send pictures of any clinical concern.
APPatient
APPatient is text messaging service BV Derm uses for check in. You must download the APPatient app from the App Store to use the platform. Ten days prior to your appointment, you will receive a text message with a link to APPatient asking you to update your medical and insurance information. This is a convenient way to save you time when you arrive for your visit. If you do not complete this ahead of time, you will be asked for this information when you arrive for your appointment.
On the App you will be able to
- Verify your medical, contact and insurance information
- Pay Co-Pays and Balances
- Sign required forms such as our HIPAA and Financial Agreements
